The Milky Road
I was reading about astrophotography this morning when found this beautiful composition of our Milky way by Larry Landolfi. I'm quite fascinated with galaxies in fact, therefore why not to describe our connexion with It using famous quotes. :) Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people. Carl Sagan Photo Credit: Larry Landolfi ( The Milky Way) When you look at the stars and the galaxy, you feel that ...

Ideas
David Lynch Ideas I came across this old video of David Lynch explaining that ideas are like fishing, meaning that if you want to catch the big one, you have to go deeper. Right, according to this as you accomplish your desires and expanding your awareness, you will be able to get brilliants ideas. A bit esoteric and irreproachable. If you don't know him and you like Films, please check his biography HERE

Sherlock Holmes
Probably It's a bit early to write about Sherlock Holmes but I've just checked the preview and seems to me a really new dynamic portrayal of Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous characters. The fictional character of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who first appeared in publication in 1887 will be in theaters again on 25th of December 2009, and hopefully I'll be there :). According to my brief research Conan Doyle wrote four novels and fifty-six short stories that feature Holmes. All but four stories are narrated by Holmes's friend and biographer, Dr John H. Watson; two are narrated ...
The Green Man Festival
If you like bands like Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker and Wilco, probably It's time to get your ticket for the hippiest festival around Wales these days. Glanusk Park is the scenario and the new surprise for this year is the 'Einstein's Garden', which will introduce thought provoking green issues in a fun and informative way. :) Sustainable living, environmental consciousness, Music and Arts have become central to Green Man Festival and that's exactly the reason why I'm attending this year. Surrounded by the River Usk, Glanusk Park is set in over 20,000 acres of rolling parkland in the heart ...
1982
Buying habits with smaller and cheaper electronic gadgets appearing including the first CD player seems to be really remarkable for 1982. Despite the fact that Argentina and the UK go to war over a small island thousands of miles away, this year Italy wins the football Worldcup and Jean-Loup Chretien is the first French man in Space (I'm not french). ;) Something quite remarkable this year was the use of Smiley or emoticon as a way of expression emotion in an email :) , the person responsible for that was Scott Fahlman from Carnegie Mellon University Carnegie Mellon. No ...

Fuji Festival
Niigata-shi (新潟市,) is the capital and the most populous city of Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The city is sometimes called the "City of Water"(水の都 Mizu-no-miyako) because of the two rivers that flow through it. Probably you're wondering why I'm writing about a city located in a region called Chūbu (which means "central region") in the middle of Japan. Well Fuji Rock Festival, an annual rock festival, will be held in Naeba Ski Resort, in Niigata Prefecture, Japan on the 24th, 25th, 26th of July. This 3 days event features about 250 Japanese and international musicians every year, making it the largest ...

It was held from 1968 to 1970 and by far the largest and famous of these early festivals. Included in the line-up of over fifty performers were The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis, The Doors, Ten Years After, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, Melanie, Donovan, Free, Chicago, Richie Havens, John Sebastian, Leonard Cohen, Jethro Tull and more. Probably we need to mention that the unexpectedly ...

The Art of Cropping
The Art of cropping Sometimes cropping a picture in post processing can improve it dramatically. Cropping can be used to: * Enlarge the main subject * Eliminate things that distract attention from the subject * Change the format to fit a standard frame size If you are deciding to crop out part of the subject, then crop boldly. It should be clear to anyone looking at the picture that you have intended the crop. Always try to avoid breaking the line of the frame with strong shapes, such a windows or ...
Children of the corn
I love classic horror movies and specially horror film music, that's why I'm writing about Jonathan Elias. The American composer will be producing the sound track for a new film called Fighting and an upcoming TV movie "Children of the corn". The TV Movie will be premier later this year on the SCI FI Channel. Jonathan was the composer of the original themes used in 1984’s “Children of the Corn” . Children of the corn is a short story by Stephen kind published in 1978 and adapted into film as a horror movie. Directed by Fritz Kiersch the film tells ...

Like A Rolling Stone in City Hall (1966)
We now know that the new Bob Dylan album, which unexpectedly will be with us on April 27, is called Together Through Life. We know also that it was written and recorded quickly. For millions he's the greatest songwriter ever, to others always just been who sounds like he sings through his nose. But definitively for those who know his music will probably tell you Bob Dylan is one of the titans of Popular Music. Celebrating his new album on april and facing prostets over smelly portable toilet outside his home today, the american singer-songwriter keep saying he preferred the art and book industries, which ...
Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
Lois: How would you like me to make your life a living hell? Ace Ventura: Well, I'm not really ready for a relationship, Lois, but thank you for asking. Hey, maybe I'll give you a call sometime. Your number's still 911? All righty then. :) Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
1981
The mighty Dangermouse Tv Program, Porky's, the American Pie of the 80's and the year when MTV went to air inspired me to write this short post about 1981. Despite the Pope John Paul II was wounded by gunman and Bob Marley died of cancer at the age of 36, 1981 was remarkable as the primitive Internet report was born. Fortunately this review is just about music (the highest chart position) and not an epitome review of dumb futurism in 1981 :) The Biggest Hits Singles in 1981. The Third: The Londoner songwriter, drummer and best known as the lead singer of the ...
